The lead is moved upon pressing the sharpener knob in leaned pencil position, which opens the clamp, and the lead is slid out by gravity as needed. The sharpener for sharpening of the lead is included in the pressing knob that can be screwed out.

The pencil body is metal with round profile sprayed with black paint, metal mechanical parts nickel coated, plastic pressing knob. The automatic pencil has a metal clip with a length of 115 mm
