Jacquard Gum Arabic is used as a binder to create own transparent watercolors, washes, stamping and calligraphy inks by mixing it with water and dry pigments like Jacquard Peral Px Pigments. Mix it with watercolours to increase their gloss and transparency or with fountain pen inks to thicken them for use with dip pens.
Add dry gum to pigment in a ratio of 1:4 (1-part gum to 4 parts pigment). Slowly add water and mix until the desired consistency is achieved. Solutions of gum and water may also be prepared and stored in a cool place for later use.
